Brief Answer:
complete the 4 dose schedule

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

I wont get overly worried as the child has been vaccinated well (both serum and vaccine)and that too by a pet.
There are two dosing schedule first is 3 dose schedule at first day and then at 3rd and 7th day, other is 4 dose with additional vaccination at 14 days.
I would suggest you to go for 4 dose schedule and an additional vaccination at 14 days.
Wishing for your child's good health

Doc are you telling me to only continue with the current anti rabbies vaccine ( started on 20th of XXXXXXX and today morning the 3rd vaccine was given ). That is just give the two more left anti rabbies vaccine.

Or start new schedule of anti rabbies vaccination all over again.

Doc I am waiting for the answer. Should I only continue with the 2 left injection of anti rabbies injection as scheduled or start vaccination all over again

Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to continue the pre scheduled vaccination

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Sorry for delayed reply

As the child was bitten by a pet and already into the vaccination schedule.I would suggest you to continue with the prescheduled vaccination(no need top start it all over again). The main aim of vaccination is to build up the immunity against the disease. The antirabies serum provides the fast and short lasting immunity while vaccination gives long term immunity.
I wont get worried as he has taken the antirabies serum and also three dosage of vaccination.

Good morning Doctor. I would like to know, how long are these anti rabbies vaccine ( taken all 5 ) and anti rabbies serum effective or the receiver of this vaccine has the immunity for how many days / week / month.

Brief Answer:
Immunity after proper vaccination usually lasts for 5 years

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Following vaccination(which induces formation of antibody in body) immunity usually develops after 10-15 days, while anti rabies serum which contains the preformed antibodies provides immediate immunity which lasts for about one month.
Anti rabies serum is given to cover the initial few days when vaccination does not cover the immunity.
Once the course gets completed immunity usually lasts for 5 years.
For long lasting immunity it is recommended to give booster dose after one year and then to give vaccination at every 5 years

In case you have any doubt please feel free to ask.
Regards
