Posted on Tue, 22 Dec 2015
Question: I had an intracerebral hemorrhage (stroke) two years ago. My blood pressure is now stabilized with blood pressure pills. I am 71 yrs of age, 5'10", 172 - 174 pounds and in good physical condition.
1. Will scuba diving be advisable?
2. Can I exercise to the point of dry vomiting without being concerned about another stroke?

Brief Answer:
Avoid these acts and follow a healthy lifestyle

Detailed Answer:
HELLO XXXXXXX

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Intracerebral hemorrhage is at increased risk with increasing age, hypertension and other causes.

SCUBA diving is linked with ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attacks.

Any excessive stress, sudden cold exposure , anxiety may lead to elevation in blood pressure and may be harmful.

Even exercise should be done to mild to moderate extent and should not be done to limits.

Good and healthy lifestyle is key to prevention of recurrent stroke.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
