Is Surgery The Right Method Of Treatment For Uterine Polyp?

Question: my mother is 55 year old. Recently I visited doctor for her health checkup. They said my mother has developed polyp in uterus .Also suggested for surgery.

According to the examination done by the doctor, your mother has developed a cervical polyp, which is a lesion or growth in cervix of the uterus.
For a cervical polyp, one should go for polypectomy, which is the removal of polyp by the vaginal route.
It is not a major surgery and should be done to rule out any malignancy in the polyp, by examining it pathologically.

If not removed, polyp can cause infection and bleeding.
