Is There Any Chance Of Transmission Of HIV Through Kissing?
Question: hi last night i went to a club and some girl kissed me mouth to mouth and then someone told me that she had HIV , i want to check m i HIV positive now?
Brief Answer:
Two weeks after exposure
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
The possibility of transmission of HIV through kissing depends on viral load in infected person's body and presence of any abrasions etc in the oral mucosa, which can lead to blood contact.
Standard tests of HIV can diagnose the possibility of transmission by detecting the viral antigens and antibodies in the body after around two to eight weeks of transmission.
So, better to check for HIV transmission at least two weeks after exposure for accurate result.
If needed you can repeat the test after eight weeks.
Take care.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
As you are having doubt regarding her HIV status and as initial symptoms of HIV may vary from person to person, better to undergo test.
Because undergoing the test and getting negative result can decrease your anxiety and you can come out of that thought.
Better to prefer tests which can give more accurate diagnosis like PCR ( Polymerase chain reaction) test.
Take care.
