Is Travelling Safe During The 10th Week Of Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Mar 2016
Question: Hi Dr. I am 10 weeks pregnant and I want to travel to my home town (drive of 6-7 hrs.). Also, just to give you context- I got Laparascopy done in 5th week of pregnancy as there was an ovarian cyst of around 12 cm which was giving me a lot of pain. And after the surgery, I am on Susten 200 injection every alternate day, Proluton Depot 500- every week and Susten 400 to be taken vaginally- twice a day.
Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Safe

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You can take a road journey at 10 weeks of pregnancy, provided that the road is smooth and not bumpy and jerky. The journey should not be continous, there should be a short break after every 2-3 hours.
You should continue taking susten and proluton as advised.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
