Is Two Shots Of Flonase Twice Daily Is Excessive Dose?
Question: I have post nasal drip and use Flonase to control it. My doc has prescribed two shots in each nostril twice a day. Is that excessive? It's chronic for me, is there anything else I can use? I see that now Flonase is over the counter and it says on the bottle not to use for more than three to five days. I've been using it for over a year.
Brief Answer:
COnsiderations
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query,
Two shots twice daily is not an excessive recommended dose of the flonase. Flonase can actually be used long term - for months or years to control symptoms.
There are some alternative nasal sprays including Nasacort and Nasonex which you could possibly try to see if those may work better. Also, claritin once a day may be helpful.
