Noticed Movable Lump Near Tonsil And Groin Area. Hurts To Swallow. Could It Be A Throat Cancer?
Question: Hi, i have a flesh coloured lump about the size of a pea in the left side of my throat next to my tonsil, it doesnt hurt to touch and is moveable. I have also noticed a moveable lump in my neck about the size of a pea. A few more moveable pea sized lumps have been found in my neck above my collarbone on both sides. Havent got sore throat but it feels dry and sometimes hurts when i swallow hard items?? I have lots of muscle aching in my neck and shoulders, seems to get worse if using them a lot. I have tender ribs to the touch and lower back pain. I cant bend over for too long at work as my lower back and stomach start to hurt. Get occasional sharp pains in chest and pains when twisting. I have also found a lump in my groin and have occasional sharp pains in this area. Also have an aching right leg mainly when twisting and it is from the kneecap up to my groin. Have also had occasional earache pain and clicking noises in ears. Pains seem to get worse as day goes on. Get lots of headaches and sharp shooting pain above temple when lightly brushing skin in that area. Am worried abot the lump in throat as my partner has the HPV virus and i have heard about links from this with throat cancer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

I have read your mail in detail. You have multiple bumps around the neck and slightly on the groin region. In my opinion these may be enlarged lymph nodes. Neck and back pain may be related to this. You need to be investigated for the cause of enlarged lymph nodes. The treatment totally depends on the cause. Certain causes are:
1. Infection or inflammation: The infection may be viral like common cold and bacterial like tubercular. Antibiotic are prescribed in these type of infection to get recovered.
2. Malignancy: 10% of the swelling is malignant and have nearly no symptoms.
3. Immune disorder: Due to the weak immunity of the body our lymph nodes get enlarged. Medication to increase immunity can be prescribed depending on the cause.
You should immediately consult your doctor and find out the cause of the disease. Keep in touch of your treating doctor and if needed go for certain investigations like scan, Needle aspiration test to rule out the cause.
As per your back pain and leg pain is concerned this can be due to PIVD (Prolapse Inter-vertebral Disc). Get your X-ray Lumbosacral spine done and if needed MRI can be planned. Consult your orthopedics for the pain in different regions. Meanwhile, you can take Analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce your pain. Hot fermentation and application of local gels at the site also helps in reducing pain.
