On Antibiotic For Infected Tooth. Can I Use Cpap Machine Or Will That Accelerate The Infection?
Question: i have a very infected tooth and am on antibiotics. lots of swelling in neck. can i still use my cpap machine or will that accelerate the infection?
Hi there XXXXXXX,
No...from an infection point of view, if already covered with the antibiotics, it will not accelerate the infection & Yes you can still use your cpap machine happily.
I should think you would be on some sort of anti-inflammatory eg ibuprofen 400 or 600mg depending on your body weight three times daily after meals to reduce the swelling in the neck but that is up to your treating physician.
Do try to sleep in a reclining position & perhaps it will help the swelling recede!
Cheers & wish you continued Good Health!
