On What Type Of Fats Are Phospholipids Dependent?

Diet plays important role in membrane constitution
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Yes,our diet plays important role in constitution of cell membrane lipids.
Cell membranes are made up of three main lipids and it includes phospholipids, glycolipids and cholesterol.
Phospholipids are the largest component of these three lipids.Phospholipids are made up of saturated and unsaturated fat and the balance of these are important in functioning of the body.
Nutrition is the best way to insure the integrity of cell membranes. We should supplement our diet with phospholipids.Lecithin is the most common source of phospholipids and soybeans are great source of lecithin.
Processed fats also play a big role in cell membrane function,so we need to balance between saturated and unsaturated fat in our diet.

Also there is an argument that says that one type of fat is bad because it is susceptible to oxidation and hence the cause of inflammation. Isn't the lipid tail of the phospholipid inside the membrane below the head part so not reachable by oxidative chemicals in the blood or inter cellular fluids.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
You are right, many forms of lipids can be interchanged if there is deficiency but our body has limited capacity to cope with deficient lipids.Ultimate source is our dietary lipids.
We are advised to limit saturated fat because in excess amount it causes damage to phospholipds by oxidative mechanism.
