my mother is 53 yrs 62 wt old she has known hypertension.but recently diagnosed with DM.her glucose levels are fasting 106 and post eating the level is 140.but she is suffering frm legpains near foot.she is takig metride 1,optusulin,pregastar M 75,aten AM, (eternex and udiliv300 for liver and gallstone problem).my question is does all this medicines are against her problems or is she taking some medicines unnecessarilily without use to the exact problem?if so please mention the medicines which need to be avoided rite now?
The pain in the foot could be related to a pinched nerve or peripheral neuropathy caused by diabetes. I don't think that the pain is related to her current therapy. For this reason, I recommend performing nerve conduction studies in order to examine her nerves. Some blood lab tests are necessary too: - Complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation - Uric acid plasma levels - Blood electrolytes - Vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency
