Hi Sir, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Dear Sir, It can be taken in either way. The action is same. But I advice the patients coming to my clinic to take it before food. Eat food after waiting 15-20 minutes and with in 30 minutes. Never forget to take food with in 30 minutes after taking the tablet
If in case you forget to take then no problem you may take just after food .

Prior to glynase-mf, My physician had prescribed combination of 1 mg of glimepiride and metformin 500mg(brand name glup g1 costing Rs. 48/ten tablets).I took glup g1 for about 12 months, half tablet after lunch and half tablet after dinner. some five months back when I visited him with my fasting/PP report of 81/113, he felt that the levels are low. He opined that for diabetics, the Ideal level for fasting should be closure to higher side ie 100 to 110 mg. He then prescribed Glynase mf telling me to take only one dose in 24 hours that too only half tablet 10to 20 minutes before lunch.With this intake my PP level was OK but Fasting level used to be 110 to 130.I expressed my concern to him . He the asked me to take two doses of half tablet each before lunch and dinner,allowing me at the same time to consume small quantities of XXXXXXX whose season is over now. My levels are 98 and 130 now. I am going to consult him shortly. What I wish to know from you is that Will it be OK if he again puts me on half tablet/24hours of glynase before lunch?

Sir The dose is set depending on how the sugar levels are being controlled. As far as I am concerned, its OK if he changes the dosage but under sugar level monitoring. If Sugar levels bounce back then you should come back to 1/2 a tablet twice daily.
Here when the dose is divided to two times a day, one thing I advice my patients is to take it once before breakfast and once before dinner, so that there will be constant action of drug for 24 hours. You can discuss this with your treating physician.
