Should I Continue Androgel And Genotropin After Achilles Tendon Surgery?
Question: I had achilles tendon surgery a few days ago. Prior to the surgery I was taking Elavil 25mg, Adderall XR 30mg (2x), Klonopin 1mg (3x), Propranolol 20mg (3x), Androgel 40mg, Genotropin .3mg injection, and Arimidex 1mg (3 days/week). The surgery went well, but the discharge orders from the hospital left out androgel, genotropin, and klonopin. And the surgeon added hydrocodone/paracetremol 7.5/325 T (take as needed for pain), and 325 mg aspirin (2x) for clotting. I called the hospital and doctor's office to see if I am to hold off on taking the androgel, genotropin, and klonopin? The only reason I can see stopping the hormones is for reducing clotting, and stopping the klonopin is for the sedating effects of the hydrocodone?
Brief Answer:
continue the hormones
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome again to HealthcareMagic.
As you have adult growth hormone deficiency, so you need to continue with androgel and genotropin. As few days has already passed following the surgery, so now it won't effect the clotting or healing process. And otherwise also they don't effect the clotting and healing process.
Klonopin needs to be on hold till you are taking hydrocodone as both have depressive action over the brain.
Hope i have been helpful.
