Sticky Feeling Inside Back. Could This Be A Sign Of Collapsed Lung?
Thank you for the query.
Were there any trauma of this area recently? Do you smoke? Do you have a cough? If you have a cough, is it productive?
Collapsed lung is possible if the air has appeared between the lung and the chest wall. This is called pneumothorax. It can appear because to small crack of the lung due to severe coughing or trauma. Some cases of pneumothorax are caused without any particular reason.
If this has happen to you, shortness of breath, pain while breathing and cough should be present.
Other possible reasons of your symptoms are bronchitis, muscular pain, rib nerve compression, spine disc herniation.
If your sticky feeling is on the left side, heart issue can also be the reason.
If you feel more back pain than shortness of breath, urinary tract infection or gallstones can also cause such symptom.
As some of this diseases are serious, please do not wait and visit your doctor. Chest X-ray, heart ECG and blood work should be done at first.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
