Question: Hello,

I stay extremely busy and have a hard time keeping appointment. I own a couple of businesses and always put them first. When I was in college I was taking adderall to help with managing my studies and job. I am finding that trying to run my businesses from different locations I am struggling to stay organized and have missed a few deadlines as well as staying focus. Is this something that you can help me with?

you can shift to atomoxetine and make dietary changes

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome to health care magic!

I have gone through the query and can see that you have been on adderal for some years but are unable to keep up with appointments because of busy schedule.

I think you should try with atomoxetine. It has less side effects and easy to take compared to adderal.

It is more even more safe.

I recommend my patients to start with 10mg dose and then go to 18 mg to 25mg.
It is taken after meals and in day time only (avoided after 4pm). Please discuss this medicine with your treating team and then start it.

Adhd is an illness which cripples an efficient person also. The medication helps a lot to keep the mind streamlined and to remain organised.
I know it must be difficult for you to be regular with all the medical appointments but you can decide for having atleast 6 appointments in an year( when you are keeping fine). These many appointments should be maintained.
Finally, when the illness is controlled your efficiency is also increased many folds!!

Regarding other non medicated measures: I ask my adhd patients to avoid all kind of stimulants- like: tea/coffee/ cold drinks / alcohol/ juices or food stuffs which have preservatives.

Try to take enough sleep

and eat nuts in the daily diet ( especially walnuts and almonds).

Get blood counts and liver tests every 6 months while on the medication.

I hope the reply is useful for you.
Wish you good luck!
