Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
Pentaxim ( Manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur) is presently out of stock from whole of India. Its due to stoppage in Vaccine manufacture and import.
Ideally Vaccines are to be given at 6,10 and 14 weeks. For unforeseen reason if there is any any delay, there is nothing to worry about and you can give it at the earliest. 4 weeks of gap is the minumumgap to be maintained between
vaccination. First dose is the primary dose and further doses are Booster doses. The gap can be even 8 weeks and there is no cause for concern as its 7 weeks from last dose.
Being Pediatric Surgeon by Profession and having access to the drug companies directly, I could not procure Pentaxim for my daughter. Instead i opted for Pentavac SD
I would suggest you the following
1. Pentavac SD ( Diptheria , Pertussis ,
Tetanus, Hemophilus type B and
Hepatitis B): The pertusis component in this is whole cell inactivated Bacteria. Pentaxim contains
acellular Pertussis .
2. Oral Polio vaccine
As per Indian association of pediatrics even
Pneumococcal vaccine and
Rotavirus is recommended at 6,10 and 14 weeks. Has it been given.
Pentavac SD is manufactured by Serum Institute of India (SII) and its indigenous and very effective
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance , will be glad to assist you.
Take Care
Best Regards
