Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.
High sugars and typhoid together are nor a good option. Your sugars need to be taken care of I'd you hope to improve on typhoid.
I will suggest that you try a non fatty, low carbohydrate diet. Ideally the weight of the patient, height of the patient should be known to suggest a good diet . A good diet also needs the patients usual diet and preferance.
I request you submit that information so I can help you further.
Also, I think it would be good to go on a DASH diet. The details of this diet can be found on my articles on this site and I suggest you do have a look at it.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal. .

Hi
I am glad to hear from you.
I think it would be good to meet your treating doctor again. Some oral diabetic medicine may be needed for the duration of the symptoms. The raised sugars are possible due to infection. I think it would be good to start the medicines as a diet alone may not be able to help you get the sugars back to normal.
In a vegetarian diet, there is not much to change except that you need to moderate the portions of the meal. And as I said in the first part of the query- avoid high calorie, spicy and oily meals.
I asked for a diet pattern from you. I guess it Was not possible for you to let me know the exact details. I therefore can only suggest a moderation of the diet eg if he is on 3 chapatis, reduce it to 2.
As per his height and weight a total of 2000 calorie ins what he needs. Add 740 calorie additionally for infection.
