Suggest Exercise For Sagging Breasts
I am posting this question on behalf of my wife, as she is scared enough to approach the doctor directly.
My wife, age 29, is a mother of 4 year old boy (delivered with a C-section). The lactation period is over and she didn't take any medicines to stop it. She allowed the kid to keep drinking her milk till the time it was available. Due to Green tea and some basic cardio exercises, her weight is reduced now to normal but she experiences sagging breasts. Do you suggest any exercises, change in schedule, medicines, sleeping methods etc to avoid further sagging or firmness of the sagged breasts?
Is it possible to regain the firmness of the breasts as it was before the baby?
precautions advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr. XXXXXXX thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is common to have sagging breast after breast feeding and more so in overweight women.
There are practically no documented methods to tighten the breasts but improvements can be done by simple measures like -
- wearing a bra of proper fitting and size with good cup coverage (and not like fancy lacy small sized ones)
- avoid brisk walking especially on any slope (if at all) and if required then wear a sports bra
- in case she follows a gym routine then treadmill or aerobics classes should always be done with a sports bra
- avoid sudden weight loss and sudden weight gain process.
- there are certain exercises available on YouTube for same and one which has been found effective is 'cupping both the breasts in both palms and then rotating the bulk of the breast tissue in clockwise circles by right hand and anticlockwise circles by left hand'
Try these simple measures which will surely help her but definitely not till the pre pregnant status.
In case you have any questions about it, I will be glad to answer.
Regards
Dr Manisha
