Brief Answer:
Use other options also.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Turmeric is effective only for mild osteoarthritis. As the problem progresses, you need other options to help with the pain. It is not recommended to increase the dose further. Additional measures that will help-
Do regular physiotherapy of joints.
Hot fomentation to decrease the joint stiffness
Hot bath of Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate)-Magnesium has both anti-inflammatory and anti- arthritic properties and it can be absorbed through the skin.
You can try gaultheria oil or oil of winter green,so many patients of mine are telling they are relieved of pain with that.

You have to apply the oil on the area that has pain.

Increasing the dietary fish intake and/or fish oil capsules (omega-3 capsules) can sometimes reduce the inflammation .

Take vegetables and fruits that are rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Calcium, Omega-3 Fatty acid, Zinc, Magensium and many more.
Joint Fluid Therapy- It is process of injecting gel in the joints and it act as supplement for synovial fluid to cure arthritis. They include Synvisc, Hyalgan, Euflexxa and others. They are also for relief in arthritis pain.
I hope this answers your query.

I have done or am doing most of the options you offer. I was taking Magnesium orally but quit because my doctor felt it was hurting my kidneys. The more I walk, the more the swelling I have in my knees. I had a very bad reaction to Synvisc. I guess I'll just go back to Mortin. Thank you anyway. Oh, I will look into the oils, but you didn't say how often do I apply. Thankk you
