Suggest Remedies For Severe Breathing Trouble Caused By An Anxiety Attack

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: My mother has breathing issues frequently in the evening around 6:00 to 6:30 . We have her breath some Vicks in hot water, eat something, and have some thing to drink and the issues fade, but I do not understand why this is happening. She is elderly, birth date 10/9/23, but we have been to geriactric, cardiologists, and about to start on pulmonary....but I just don't understand why on the timing....always when it is in the evening always the same time. Yes, of course just typing this means it seems some sort of blood sugar possibly thing, but would just like an opinion.

Brief Answer:
Possible anxiety attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

The accurate answer will depend a lot on the health situation of your mother.
If she is healthy and has not chronic problems it may be anxiety and its not only the food and drinks that relax her but also the attention and the care that you demonstrate.

If she has diabetes and is on insulin then it may be low blood sugar. I doubt it can be low blood sugar if she is not with insulin and if she is not that much active during day. But, only a sugar test would confirm for sure.

I don't think she has a pulmonary problem because it this was the case she would have symptoms during the rest of the day also.

These are my thought. I don't know if makes sense but my stand its more on being an anxiety attack if everything turns out to be normal.

I want to congratulate you on the good care you are taking on her.

Hope this is helpful.
