Inguinal lymphadenopathy is usually related to an infectious cause including. The common causes include chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum, granuloma inguinale. Non specific inflammation due to viral infections is also common. This usually subsides in 2 weeks time. NSAIDs can be advised if the swelling persists beyond a week. If the node enlarges or fails to regress after two weeks then extensive workup including an excisional biopsy to rule out the possiblity of malignancy.
