Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Aspirin can be used for Tension Headache
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthCareMagic.com I am Dr.Bruno Mascarenhas, and I am happy to answer your queries. I have read your question with care and understand that you had Thyroid Cancer which had gone to the Lymphnodes (Metastasis). You have been also taking Carisoprodol. At present your doctor does not want to prescribe it anymore.
(1) Tab. Ibuprofen 400 mg is the first choice for Tension Headache.
(2) Other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Naproxen Ketoprofen are sometimes indicated.
(3) Paracetamol 500 mg-1000 mg is recommended for those intolerant of NSAIDs but appears less effective.
(4) Aspirin 600 mg-900 mg can also be used in those over 16 years of age.
Since the above are all much safer drugs, Your Doctor must have not prescribed Carisoprodol.
You have also mentioned about Injury to Trigeminal Nerve during Surgery. Trigeminal Nerve will not get injured during Thyroid Surgeries. So you need not worry
Hope you found the answer helpful.
