Brief Answer:
Cholecalciferol is the best.

Detailed Answer:
HI XXXXXXX

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

Vitamin D comes in the form of Cholecalciferol and Calcitriol. Both are good in terms of efficacy . But usually Calcitriol is used in patients with Kidney problem and in other people with normal kidney function Cholecalciferol is used.

So I recommend Cholecalciferol only to you ( Brand names are D rise, Caldikind, D 360 , Bon D k ) . The dose depends on the levels of your Vitamin D .

Side effects of excess Vitamin D are usually seen when it is taken as Injection and very uncommon if taken as oral medications. The side effects are :

--- Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal Cramps, Giddiness,
--- Bone pain, Headache,
--- Loss of Appetite, Weight loss , Liver problems ,
-- Hypertension , Heart Problems,
-- Kidney stones , excess Urination,

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.
