![default](/r/images/default.png)
Please what is the cause of this and what advise will you give me concerning this.
It can be benign or serious condition
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Please elaborate what do you mean by seizure breathing. Here I will try to answer in simple and brief. Please read it carefully.
Was there abnormal movement of the body with uprolling of eye ball?(seizure/convulsion)
Did her respiration ceased for a while?(apnea/chocking)
Did her lips/body get bluish at that time?(Cyanotic spell/Breath holding spell)
Was there abnormal sound coming during breathing?(Chocking due to foreign body/upper airway infection)
Was there fever or any other significant symptoms?
It is very important for me to get the answers of all the above questions as this will help in making some diagnosis.
Breathing difficulty itself can cause seizure or a seizure can also cause breathing difficulty.
It may be benign condition like breath holding spell, a serious condition like cyanotic spell(due to some heart defect) or seizure disorder/febrile seizure.
In these two conditions you have to be more careful as these can recur.
Breath holding spell or cyanotic spell occur when baby cries excessively. So be alert at that time. Check whether she has stopped breathing or breathing fast at that time.
If she has stopped breathing for a while it is breath holding spell, you can stimulate her respiration by pinching and iron syrup can be helpful in such condition.
If there is fast breathing with bluish discoloration then this may be cyanotic spell. Fold the knees of the baby to the abdomen and consult your physician immediately.
To prevent febrile seizure (fever associated seizure) try to bring down the temperature by sponging or antipyretic.
In case of seizure disorder nasal spray of midazolam is helpful.
In any of the above condition consult your physician urgently.
If you have any doubt you can ask me further query. I will be glad to answer.
