Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain On Foot After Fracture
Question: my wife broke her right foot,5th MT,10 weeks ago.she had pop and crepe bandages and wax bath also and is taking calcium tabs as per doctor advise.he says fracture is healing
after seeing xray.but swelling repeating with pain.
how long it will take to heal?any remedy for swelling?

I understand your concern.
The swelling can recur in case if the POP is over tight.
I advise you to get the POP cast checked again.
This is very important step.
In case if its too tight ,it has to be immediately cut and opened.
This decision has to be made by an expert Orthopedic Surgeon after checking for pain on passive foot flexion.
The fracture should heal completely by 12-16 weeks.
Swelling can be reduced through Tab Chymerol Forte one tab twice a day for 5 days.

pop was removed within 3 weeks ie 8 weeks ago and had crepe bandage for 3weeks,ted socks for 2weeks.

Okay in such a case simple conservative measures will help.
Use an ice pack wrapped in a towel (don’t use in direct contact with the skin) for up to 20 minutes, reapply if necessary after a 20 minute break.
Tab Chymerol forte can be taken 3 times a day along with tab Ibuprofen 600 mg twice day for 5 days will help to reduce both swelling and pain.
Repeat X RAY after 7 days.
