Suggest Treatment For HPV Infection
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I have just had an abnormal pap forbthe second year in a row. The first year, i did a colposcopy ehich came back negative. This year again my pap indicated high risk hpv and my doctor had me schedule another colposcopy. These are very painful and only increase my fear of going to the dr so i while i am going back i also want to do everything in my power to help my body heal itself. Thats why i have looked into alternative forms of treatment. I found something called "vag pak" which ibasked my dr about but she declined to look at the ingredients and tell me if it would be safe to try. I know traditional medicine does not recognize alternative treaments but i want to try something besides watchful colposcopies. I just want a dr to confirm the "vag pak" would be safe to try because im assuming that even if it doesnt work it wouldnt cause any harm to give it a shot.
Brief Answer:
You can try
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
You can try vag pak pessaries. There is no harm. You can give a shot at it.
I don't think they can cure HPV. I suggest you undergo colposcopy also to rule out major changes in cervix.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
Regards

Thank you. another Dr told me that colposcopy is not normal procedure for my results. Can you confirm that?
My test results read:
HPV: high risk value positive
Diagnosis- epithelial cell abnormality. Atypical squamous cells of undertermined significance.
He said that does not indicate lesions and so a colposcopy is not standard. He is confused why they did not simply recommend a recheck pap. What is your opinion?

Brief Answer:
Abnormal Colposcopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Yes, Your colposcopy report is definitely abnormal. This would need further investigation.
I think Cervical biopsy is next step to rule out early cancer.
