Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Swelling And Fibroid After Childbirth
Question: Hello i was diagnosed with large fibroid after i had my baby.It was 3 months ago but the bleeding is still going.I ve been prescribed norethisterone,depo injection and decapeptyl injection.Sometimes i have blood clots.Im still waiting the bleeding to stop and my abdomen is swelling at night.What advise could you give me?

I read your question and i understand your concern. Bleeding from fibroids sometimes get very complicated and should be managed aggressively. If the medications are not responded to you may opt for different ones. Try GnRH analogs( Lupron, Synarel), Intra uterine devices , danazol and NSAIDs etc. Also take iron and folate supplements as well.
If the bleeding persists despite above medications, i would suggest to go for minimal invasive to noninvasive surgeries.
FUS ( MRI guided Focussed Ultrasound Surgery ) is newer technique and highly recommended and can be opted for as next line of management if medications din not respond.
Other options are uterine artery embolization, Myolysis, Robotic myomectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy, endometrial ablation and resection of fibroid and hysterectomy.
