Brief Answer:
Do upload the echocardiography report

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I need some more information. Is it a native valve ( original - natural )? Because on this case blockage is a chronic process and depending on the site and the calcium it can be opened or has to be replaced. Or was it already a replaced valve ( at mitral or aortic ) area. In this case the blockage is recent you may open it with a clot busting injection and if chronic, requires a redo surgery .
I would request you to upload the echocardiography report so I can guide you best .
Also the cost varies a lot depending on the doctor and hospital.
In government hospital it can be done for free, in a trust hospital there is a huge subsidy on valve surgeries and it may be 3 - 4 times more in a corporate hospital. So without knowing what exactly is needed for you, it is impossible to give you estimate .

Brief Answer:
No need of surgery at present

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
What you have is called mitral stenosis. Mostly they had dilated the valve before .
Now according to your echo cardiography report of 2015 ,
The Vavle area is 1.8, also there is not much of leak . The left atrium too is just boder line . Till 4 cm is nomral yours is just 4.1 . You have not attached the page for gradient across the valve , but from the parameters attached you don't need either balloon dilation or any surgery at this point.
Era her it's already a year , you should consider getting an echocardiography again to see if any progression is there and better description of mitral valve anatomy.

Brief Answer:
I have gone through te report and recommend as in detailed answer

Detailed Answer:
I went through both the pages previously and as I have said , according to the reports no surgery is needed at present , however you consider getting a more detailed echocardiography report, with more detailed information in mitral valve morphology, gradients , Wilkins score and do let me know if you are taking medication or if you have any symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Continue Pencom injection ,early echocardiography.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX ,
2 hat you have is called rheumatic valve disease so it's of mild severity as only mitral valve is affected and all other valves are normal .
Even the affection of mitral valve is not very severe .
I strongly suggest you continue taking penicillin prophylaxis every 21 days till you are 40 years . It's not very tedious and the benefit would be far higher .
All the mitral valve area after 2010 you have mentioned is in mild range and so no surgery is needed ta present or in near future .
Lastly those minor variations are common when different people do echo on differnt machine . So its fine until there is a steady trend towards lower area . Even if something is needed as there is not much clarification and no significant mitral regurgitation another trail for BMV may be offered when needed .
Only symptoms you should inform your doctor is breathlessness on exertion and palpitation
Hoping I could help .
Regards Dr Priyank Mody
