I have had cataracts before and had surgery to correct it now I am thinking I may need to have it done again i got cataracts at a young age 31 and I am 34 now so it runs in the family so does diabetes so I am concern I can't afford to lose my eyesight please tell me what should I do thank you XXXXXXX
This requires eye examination to look for causes like after cataract.

Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having gradually progressive blurring of vision.
Since you have undergone cataract surgery at the age of 31, and you are having family history of diabetes, I would like to rule out
After cataract which occurs after cataract surgery and presents with progressive blurring of vision. This occurs because of proliferation of lens cells and this can be treated by simple laser procedure called as yag laser capsulotomy.
Diabetic retinopathy needs to be ruled out if you are having diabetes. Mere history of diabetes will not cause this problem and this problems usually occurs after 5 years of diabetes, hence this is unlikely. But if present this can be treated by laser.
Hence first thing to be done is eye examination by your eye doctor to look for after cataract and any other cause. If any of the problems are found they can be treated easily and no need to be worried about them.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
