Suggest Treatment For Cellulitis In The Leg

Question: I had a by-pass done on my left leg twice once in Illinois last year in January and again this year in January in XXXXXXX , Tx. After coming home a week and a half later I developed what they tell me is Cellulitis. Now at the calf of my leg I have pain that comes and goes several times a minute and the area around the healed incision is red warm to the touch and the only thing my doctor did was a Doppler to make sure I did not have a blood clot. I feel something is still wrong in my calf even though I was hospitalized for a week on intravenous antibiotics should I be worried and continue to seek medical attention until someone listens to my pleas?

As the doppler excluded any clot so the likely cause is cellulitis. Antibiotics would be required for treatment. Hopefully, it would resolve in a weeks time. Continue to follow up with your doctor and ask for antibiotics to be prescribed if they haven't already. Monitor any fever associated with it and document the finding to share with your doctor.
