What Causes Pain & Numbness Under The Nose?

I had facial cellulitis 2 years ago. It was so out of hand I had to be in the hospital for 7 days to treat it. Im having the same exact pain and feeling of numbness right under my nose and the right side of my face up the side of my nose and under my eye. It isn t nearly as bad as when I had it the first time but I recognize the pain and the swelling. Should I see a doctor or should I go to the emergency room?

Hi,

There is a chance of recurrence and such type of infections can be serious hence go to ER for emergency investigations and treatment can be started in time to avoid complications:
You need to be seen by a Doctor, have tests of blood and CT scan of the affected area to know the underlying cause.
You will be started on antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.
Surgery may be needed if curative action to be taken if indicated.
Do not fondle the area as it increases inflammation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
