Detailed Answer:
Hello
My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. There could be a number of causes for night sweats. Most common include:
1. Tuberculosis:
It is mostly associated with low grade fever, night sweats, chronic cough(in case of pulmonary TB) with or without weight loss. Patient's history is usually chronic. It can be confirmed by X-ray Chest, throat swab culture for AFB & ESR.
2. Idiopathic hyperhidrosis:
In this condition body chronically produces increased sweat. Usually no underlying cause can be found.
3. Hypoglycemia:
In diabetics it is a very common cause of night sweats. Whenever there is low blood sugar level then sweating occurs.
4. Hormonal Imbalance:
Certain endocrine pathologies like pheochromocytoma, or hyperthyroidism.
5. Malignancy:
A malignancy like lymphoma may also cause night sweats, fever, weight loss & enlarged lymph nodes.
> All these condition can be excluded one by one by some investigations and workup.
