Suggest Treatment For Compression Fracture Of T6
Question: I had a spinal fusion of the t3 to the t9 on the 26/3/15following an accident which caused a significant compression fracture of the t6, and also fractured the t3 4 & 5, I also broke my scapular in 5 places. At my 6week check I was informed that I now have a wedge compression fracture of the t9 which is moderately severe ... will it need to be fused to the t11 now and will the recovery period and pain post op be as long and as painful as the past 9 weeks has been. The surgeon has indicated that this extra surgery may be necessary
Brief Answer:
is there any cord compression at t 9
Detailed Answer:
Hello

wedge compression leads to spinal cord compression.
At t 9 is there any cord compression. ?If compression is severe then surgery may be required.
If Wedge compression is more than 50 percent then surgery is required. Wedge compression can be measured by decrease in anterior vertebral height.
