Suggest Treatment For Concussion With A Black Eye
Question: My wife got a concussion with a blackeye six weeks ago. The bruises still there, but not as bad. What can she do besides going to see a doctor?

As I can see there is just minor dark discoloration as a result of healed periorbital hematoma. It may take few more weeks till the final result is seen and sometimes permanent skin changes persist.
SHe can apply Arnica cream or Terrasil at this point.
If there wont be satisfactory result, she should see dermatologist and some laser procedures may help to remove hematoma completely. WIsh you good health. Regards

We read online about home remedies and were wondering your opinion of them. One was sun therapy, which stated 20 minutes in direct sunlight once a day would be beneficial to the blackeye. The other was apple cider vinegar, applied with a cotton ball directly on the bruise, and massage, light pressure directly on the area

Yes, these are home remedies which are usually beneficial for pigment skin discolorations after hematoma has resorbed. However for hematomas which are deeper in skin, it may not be effective and dermatologic procedure would be recommended in this case. In every case, it cant be harmful, but I am not so sure that results will be seen.
