Suggest Treatment For Constant Back Pain When Suffering From Pneumonia

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Aug 2015
Question: Hi. I was diagnosed with double pneumonia XXXXXXX 4th. This was after two previous visits to the doctor to treat allergy related asthma, breathing issues with wheezing/fluid in the lungs. On XXXXXXX 4th my GP finally did a chest xray because I had been complaining for two months of constant back pain in my lower left side just under the rib cage. I was treated with Levaquin 750 ml pills. I just went back for another chest xray Monday July 7th. Chest xray normal/clear, but my pain in my left side back just below my rib cage is worse, constant, and affecting everything I do. I Googled possible pneumonia complications, and one that came up was enlarged spleen. I called my doc, but can't get an appt. until Monday. Is it okay to wait until Monday?

Brief Answer:
Yes, you can wait till Monday.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Since your recent chest x ray is normal, no need to worry much for your left sided pain.
And possibility of spleenomegaly (enlarged spleen) is also less because you are having normal blood reports.
So you can wait till Monday.
Meanwhile you should apply warm water pad on affected site. This will give you more relief. You're should also take combination of painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Avoid movements causing pain. Avoid bad postures in sleep.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Thank you Dr. Bhavsar for your quick response. I am taking a muscle relaxant. I will take some ibuprofen. I will rest, plus try a warm compress on the area, and then go to visit my GP on Monday. I feel more calm about it. Have a good weekend!
