Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea In An Infant

Question: My son who is 8.5 months is having loose motions since y'day.
Today he passed around 8-10 motions in the complete day.
I gave hime enterogermina y'day morning and repeated it today morning as well.
But I don't see any improvement. Please suggest

Dear Mr XXXXXXX

Majority of diarrhea in babies are caused by viral infection and are self limiting.
As you have already started Enterogermina which is a Probiotic, addition of Syrup Wallamycin 5 ml twice a day will be helpful.
The piciple of management of episode of diarrhea is
1. Ensure good intake of fluids to replenish the loss
2. Ensure adequate nutrition

I would also suggest you to
1.continue Breast feeding the baby
2. supplementary feeds as started to continue: Dhal water, rice water, kanji, curd rice

If the oral mucosa is moist, baby is accepting feeds well and urine output is adequate then there is no cause for concern.
