Suggest Treatment For Ear Pain Radiating Towards Neck And Face
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Thanks Dr Ranxha for following up with me. I had my neurologist appointment this week and he was not concerned about the abnormal VNG and indicated that it was Benign Positional Vertigo. I asked him if it could be peripheral neuropathy causing these issues and then he stated he didn't know. Told him I never had severe ear pain like I had back in December with no signs of infection and again he was not concerned and he told me to talk to the ENT more about that. The pain radiated down the neck, and across the face.
What are the causes that would have the results of the VNG to be abnormal?

Brief Answer:
Not to worry too much
Detailed Answer:
Dear
You don't have to worry to much as your neurological exam was normal.
Anyway for insurance you can undertake a neck MRI and an ENG.
Dear a single episode with vertigo isn't any problem
There are a lot of situation which can cause it and they aren't risky.
I am glad that your exam was normal so if you have no more symptoms don't worry.
Nystagmografy is an examination which is subjective and many time can result falls positive or negative so the doctors base their diagnose on clinical exam then on examination
Hope my answer helps you
Wish you all the best
