Brief Answer:
Bursitis needs injection or surgery some time

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Bursitis is collection of fluid around elbow. It can be acute or chronic.
Acute is when symptoms are less then six weeks. In such cases you may be benefitted from NSAIDS and rest. Some time when fluid collection is large then you can get it removed with needle and then steroid injection can be given. Mostly symptoms improve after this.
In cases where it is more then six weeks old then you might need surgery to take care of this, as in that situation medicine is not very effective.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
