Suggest Treatment For Elbow Pain
Question: I'm having pain in my elbow for the last couple of weeks.I thought I was getting better until I lifted a broom and screamed out in pain.I can't extend or bend it, pick anything up without excruciating pain. I can't really say if there is swelling. What is it and how should I manage it?
Brief Answer:
sounds like bursitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am sorry that you are having this difficulty.
It sounds like you may have a tendonitis or bursitis in your elbow. Use ice and antiinflammatory medication like ibuprofen to help relieve the pain and inflammation. It may also be helpful to wear a supportive wrap like an ace bandage for a few days.
If the pain is worsening or not resolving after trying these things then you may need to see your doctor for xray for further evaluation. Sometimes a steroid shot into the elbow can relieve the pain immediately.
I hope you are feeling better soon,
