Suggest Treatment For Fever, Chills, Weakness And Stomach Pain
Question: I am recovering from a pacemaker implant (3 weeks ago), and have had stomach distress for 4 days. Yesterday I had fever and chills, weakness, dizziness, and stomach pain. Also my urine has a very bad odor, and I am having terrible incontinence. I have frequent uti's. Today my stomach pain which is on the right side under my ribs is worse. I am nauseous, and even felt nauseous after a drink of water. I had my gall bladder removed 20 years ago. I am diabetic and am due to have a routine check up next week, but am thinking tonight I may not be able to wait that long.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
I carefully passed through your question and would explain that your symptoms could be related to an infection.
I recommend going to the ER for a careful physical exam and some tests:
- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- an abdominal ultrasound
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, fasting glucose, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, PCR, sedimentation rate)
- a blood bacterial culture
- an urine analysis
- urine bacterial culture.
You may need to start antibiotics based on your tests results.
Hope to have been helpful!
