Question: Hi, my son was having a fever on friday night and gave him some paracetamol fluid (ml) per 6 hours and by yesterday he was feeling a lot better and his body was back to normal and I stop giving him the paracetamol until last night his body was hot including cheek and forehead but not his hands so i gave him the paracetamol again last night at 7.30pm, 1.30am and this morning at 7.30am and now his body and cheeks are cooler now except for his forehead is still a little bid warmer. And he's walking around feeling better now not like last nite he was coughing and vomit just once around midnight. Should I continue on with the paracetamol ?I went to take him to the clinic this morning but its close so i will do tomorrow. Please I need some help on my son condition pls pls and some further treatment that he may take please

Brief Answer: If fever is above 101 f you can give Paracetamol. Detailed Answer: Hello! I am Dr.Rovena I had gone through your query and understand your concern. In the way you describe it seems to be a viral infection. I don't think you need to worry because viral infections are common in children. If your son has a fever above 101 *f you can give him Paracetamol (or Ibuprofen if you have) every 4-6 h in the right dose according to his age and weight (probably 120 mg every 4-6 h if needed)and don't give him more than four doses in a day. Give him plenty of fluids, and vegetables. Take him to the pediatrician tomorrow so he can examine your son in order to confirm the diagnosis. If this is a viral infection no further treatment is needed, just rest, control the fever ,give plenty of fluids and healthy foods. Hope I was able to help.If you have any further question I will be happy to help. Wish your son a quick and complete recovery. Take care Dr.Rovena
