Question : I have a genitalia herpes flare up, first in six years. Have not had sex in that many years. My doctor prescribed Lotrisone but it caused burning after 2 days. She suggested neosporin and desitin. Still have the burning and does not seem to be getting better. Can you suggest other creams I might try?

Creams which you are using are not specific for herpes.

In my opinion you need acyclovir tablets along with analgesics which will help you in reducing pain and burning.

You can also apply acyclovir cream for faster results.
