Suggest Treatment For Genital Herpes

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Mar 2015
Question: I was diagnosed with genital herpes two months ago and scabies three weeks ago. I have done two permethrin treatments one week apart. The itch is gone for the most part excluding in my genital area. It's almost like a pain itch. My dermatologist said it can't be anywhere but on the skin so no mucus membranes. He's on vacation this next week and I want some answer. What does this look like?

Brief Answer:
Genital herpes or an yeast infection are the possibilities.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

I saw the picture sent by you. It is not fit anyway with genital scabies lesion. More over scabetic lesions are rare over female genitals.
It could be a recurrence of genital herpes with ulceration or an yeast infection with excoriations due to scratching. Mucosa seems inflamed on left side. You can have a course of herpes treatment which was prescribed to you previously along with some antihistamines for itching till your Dermatologist return from his vacation. He will be able to fix the diagnosis with an examination and investigations and prescribe more appropriate drugs.Wish you a speedy recovery.
