Suggest Treatment For Heartburn, Bloating, Cramps And Gas

Question: So -- end of Summer this year - I had a onset of heartburn, bloating , gas , cramping - pretty much every day - heartburn was the main culprit. went to GP and GI about 5 weeks ago - had blood work . general physical exam - nothing unusual - GI prescribed Nexium and better eating habits . Nexium has no doubt helped curb the heartburn - but not gone - still some discomfort- but better .
I had this issue about 3 1/2 years ago and i was scoped all clear . basically went away for 3 years , now I am having these issues. I will be visiting the Dr for follow up on next step soon.
don't like having theses digestive issues for several weeks ( although improved) - just curious what you think next course should be if not 100 % .( or at least close to 100%)

Brief Answer:
Repeat Upper GI Endoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Nexium is standard drug of choice for this kind of problems. It really helps. If it does not relieve completely next thing is Upper GI endoscopy to check for ulcers, mucosal problems, sphincter issues. Your doctor may treat for Hpylori infection with antibiotic is also a common cause for these issues.
So the next course would be a trial of triple therapy for Hpylori or Upper GI endoscopy.
