Suggest Treatment For High Blood Sugar Levels
Question: I am a 67 yr old female, diagnosed with Type1diabetes in 2002.
I have never had extreme high bloodsugar after being diagnosed.
However, while moving heavy furniture over the weekend by number shot to over 600 and I
felt awful. I took 10 units of my Novolg and felt better soon and my bloodsugar continued to drop
over the next 24 hours.
Also had broken blood vessels in one eye.
Should I see my doctor?

Brief Answer:
Keep monitoring the blood sugar and ketones;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
The blood sugar you reported has been of concern.
Anyway, if the blood sugar is within the normal ranges now and you do not feel any symptom, there is no need to see a doctor.
The hemorrhage in the eyes ( if it is in the cornea) will go away after 5-7 days. Usually are caused by an elevated pressure such as sneezing or coughing.
If the blood glucose persist over 200 mg/ dl, I would recommend to check the ketones in urine and see a physician.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
