Question: Hello, I am 35 years old, software engg. Yesterday I went for routine checkup and found that my :-
1) Body Water level is very low.
Yes, I drink very less water. Moreover being always in AC in office, I little feel to drink.

2) My cholestrol was very high (300 mg/dl).
This was a shock for me. This may be first time I checked my cholestrol level in last few years. I have normal diet, I very rarely eat outside food or eat at restaurants. We dont eat oily food too.

Can you please help and suggest something, I am little worried.

Brief Answer:
Lifestyle changes and medication to be started.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
Thanks for posting your query on hcm.
I have gone through your reports.
I have concurred that:-
- You need to increase your water intake to 3-4 litres of water/day.
- Also, get an electrolyte estimation done to rule out sodium deficiency ( hyponatremia)

For increased cholesterol levels, you need to make lifestyle changes and also you may start with medication.
Make sure you do moderate exercise of 40-45 minutes/ day. This maybe in the form of swimming, cycling or jogging.
You may start with a combination of statin and fenofibrate once a day after consultation with your physician.
Repeat lipid profile after 3 months.
If you have any further doubts/ queries, you may get back to me.
Regards,
Dr. Sonia
