Question: Hi I had what looked like a ingrown hair in my public region (labia majora) and have developed another one. I have been sick with a viral infection since Monday and that is also where they appeared. I am sexy XXXXXXX active but with the same person for a year and we always use condoms.

Brief Answer:
This could be a genital wart

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

This could be a genital wart. Is it associated with itching or pain?

Consult your gynaecologist to get a biopsy of the lesion to see whether it a wart or a normal finding..

If biopsy comes out to be positive for wart, get it removed by electrocauterisation..

Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..

It doesn't look like a wart from the pictures I've seen. could it just be a chancre sore or ingrown hair?

It could be a ingrown hair

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..

Ingrowth hair is seen in women who have a close shave repeatedly. Sometimes there will be pustule. If asymptomatic, nothing need to be done. It will resolve on its own.. Avoid repeated shaving. Clipping of hair is preferred.. If there is a pustule, then antibacterial cream can be applied..

Chancre sore appears as a painless ulcer. If it is a typical ulcer, then it could be chancre sore.

Hope I have answered your query. if n doubt, please close the conversation and rate my answer..

I pulled out a hair but it didn't seem to be ingrown. it just looks like an open ulcer similar to what you would get inside of your mouth. I am currently putting anti bacterial cream on it. is that the correct thing to do?

Brief Answer:
Then it is chancre csore

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..

From your description, it sounds like chancre sore. Confirm it by doing VDRL. If VDRL is positive, you have to take antibiotics for syphilis..

Hope I have answered your query. Good day..
