Brief Answer:
Are you able to walk around?

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. To help you better please tell me-
1. Are you able to walk around?
2. May send the picture of injured leg, if possible?
My suggestions are-
1. Along with the Ice fomentation keep the limb elevated, take rest and wrap the part with compression elastic bandage (crepe bandage).
2. If Ibuprofen does not work you may have prescription only drug tramadol as pain killer and trypsin/chymotrypsin to reduce swelling.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care

I am able to walk. The picture doesn't really show anything and it is not really that swollen any more. It only hurts when two things are happening: 1: touching the area and 2: running. When I touch it, it is warm and when i move my fingers around it feels like I am moving sand under the skin. When I run, it feels like the "sand" under my skin is bouncing up and down. The best way to describe how the injury occurred if if i was jumping on a trampoline and came down with my body horizontal instead of vertical and landed with my shins on the metal bar really hard. (this isn't what happened but it is the best way to describe it) I have a bruise on my left shin, but the right shin is the problem. The pain and injured area is to the inside of my right shin a little below the knee. The pain is also well below the area of impact.

Brief Answer:
Soft tissue injury;Rest is must

Detailed Answer:
Hi
It's good to see you
I have gone through your reply carefully; it is suggestive of soft tissue Injury and will heal within 2-3 weeks time. You may use thrombophob ointment to reduce bruises along with treatment as discussed earlier.
The sand like feel may be due to bruises along with blood collection below skin.
Hope this helps.
Wishing you good health.
