Suggest Treatment For Loss Of Hearing In A 50 Year Old
Question: RESPECTED, my wife at 40 realised having hearing problem. In 2007 she started taking Evion 400 and in 2010-tests were done and took Neurokind cap for two years. Improvement a bit had been and at present she can not hear in XXXXXXX ph and also if somebody whispering to someone else in front of her. She is otherwise more or less okay. Had very acute jaundice at birth, suffered from sinusitis for years accompanied by migraine. Few days back she fell down in kitchen and her left leg was severely injured. The fingers became reverse folded-feels no toe and sometimes something moving as if. Now she is 50.

1. Sensorineural hearing loss occurs due to destruction of hearing cells of inner ear and their connections. It could be due to congenital jaundice or repeated sinus infections involving the inner ear. At present scenario, oral medications will not help.
Hearing aids or cochlear implant surgery are the last therapeutic interventions will help in regaining the lost hearing.
2. Malunion (reverse folded toe and leg injuries) needs orthopedician's consultation.
