Suggest Treatment For Lump On Collar Bone
Question: I noticed a small oval lump on my left side approximately 1- 1.5 inches below my collar bone. It seems to be right in the area of one of the interpectoral lymph nodes. It is not tender or very hard, and does move somewhat. I would say it is approximately 7-8 mm in size. I have been actively trying to lose weight and am not sure if it was discovered due to weight loss and has been there a while or if it is new. I have had no infections. I wonder if this is more characteristic of a lymph node or could just be a lipoma. If it is possible it is a lymph node, should I just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't harden, get larger, or change shape?
Thank you for your time.

Brief Answer:
Just wait and see.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Lymph node is hard and rounded. Lipoma is soft (much softer than a lymph node). It is hard to distinguish it just from your description.
Single lymph node 7-8 mm large is rather nothing you should be worried about. If you do not have any fever, night sweating, weakness, shortness of breath, you can wait and see. Just keep an eye on it for few months. If stays the same, no need to bother about it.
Otherwise, soft tissues ultrasound can be done.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
Just wait and see.
