Suggest Treatment For Lump On Lower Right Back And Upper Outer Thigh

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jan 2016
Question: I do weightlifting . Have had a pea like small painless lump under the skin of my lower right back little above waist . Showed it to a doctor and he said its nothing . It has been there for 4 years . Sometimes it's prominent and sometimes it's like its not there.

After a break from gym , I started working out . Started doing legs for the first time ever . Came home and noticed a very very dull pain . I touched and its a similar and even smaller lump . Its located on upper outter thigh below the buttocks . It has been there for 2 weeks but no pain . Sometimes it pains lil bit if I keep on pressing .

No weight loss . No loss of appetite . Have not had any fever or sleepless nights . Please shed some light on it .

Thank you !

My Impression-Lipoma?

Hi,Dear thanks for your query to HCM.
Based on the query facts and with much little information on its consistency-soft/firm,mobility, fixity,?punctum presence or not?,I would use My expertise and experience to evaluate the possible cause of these 2 lumps.

Prima Facie Impression-? LIPOMA.
As your doctor has already assessed it as nothing to worry, for the lump which is there for last 4 yrs,the first one seems mostly to be Lipoma by it size,
Recent and 2nd lump, being dull pain, existing for last 2 weeks, which pains due to the repeated handling done by you,and by its site,This lump seems mostly to be due to -Lipoma.

-Differential Diagnostic Possibilities-
Possibilities of Epidermoid Cyst/ HPV Sessile papilloma /Sebaceous Cyst needs to be kept in mind and need to be ruled by second opinion from your Surgeon.
-Investiagations-
USG/FNAC Biopsy of these lumps would lead to the exact cause of your lump.

Possibility in your case-
Both of your lumps seem to be Benign and non-cancerous clinically.
This can be confirmed by Second Opinion from your Surgeon, who would differentiate these lumps from the various other causes as discussed above.
Hence I would susggest you to assess these lumps after USG / if need be FNAC biopsy,as per the advise from your Surgeon, who would treat it accordingly.

Hope this reply would help you to reduce the worries related with these lumpa and would help you to plan further treatment with your doctors there.

Welcome for any further query in this regard.

Detailed Answer:
Brief Ans-Mostly ?Lipoma.FNAC and USG would resolve your worry..!!

Dear, thanks for your updates.Don't worry of it being Cancerous.
Mostly its either of ?Lipoma and / or ? Sebaceous Cyst.
As already discussed in my last reply-My impression still is in favor of ?Lipoma.
But to rule out the other possibilities, Would suggest FNAC And USG with Surgeons second opinion and physical examination.

Hope this updated reply would resolve your worry.
